Nasarawa State Police Command says it is partnering with the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association with a view to putting an end to Kidnapping and other crimes, as two kidnapped victims regained freedom.
The Police Public Relations Officer Ranham Nansel, made this known on Tuesday in a press statement
He said that the Nasarawa State Police Command in its drive to reduce to the barest minimum, incidences of crimes and criminalities especially kidnapping in the State has decided to partner the Fulanis in Nasarawa State.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi also made the disclosure when he invited the Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Mr Mohammed Bala Dabo, Ardos and Fulani elders to a meeting held at the State Police Command Headquarters, Shendam road, Lafia.
During the meeting, it was agreed that the Fulanis will work in collaboration with the Police to stop incidences of Kidnapping in Nasarawa Sate.
A security committee comprising of Police operatives and Fulani was set up, led by a Superintendent of Police, SP Emmanuel Bombum saddled with the responsibility of jointly responding to reported cases of kidnapping.

Ranham said that the effort of the security Committee in synergy with the Anti-kidnapping unit and other tactical teams of the Command paid off on Monday at about 2200hrs when two kidnapped victims who are graduates of Nasarawa State university and Al qalam university earlier Kidnapped on Saturday at about 1915hrs were hurriedly released by their abductors due to sustained pressure from the security operatives.
The victims were immediately taken to a medical facility for examination and debriefing before re-uniting them with their family.
he further stated that the Commissioner of Police wishes to reassure members of the public that, the Police Command will not abdicate its responsibility of protecting lives and property thus, soliciting the support and collaboration of the general public by way of giving information in order to reduce crime in the state.
