President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the largest lithium processing plant in West Africa, located in Nasarawa State.
The facility is expected to boost investor confidence and strengthen Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.
President Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, said the plant has a processing capacity of 6,000 tonnes per day and will drive investment in the mining sector.

The facility is expected to produce three million tonnes annually and create about 1,000 direct jobs and 2,000 indirect jobs, positioning Nigeria as a leading destination for value-added mineral processing.
Vice President Shettima said the Federal Government is stepping up efforts to curb illegal mining, expand mineral exploration, and attract more investment into the sector.
