Nasarawa State Government has commenced the training of 270 civil servants on Information and Communication Technology, ICT in order to advance their knowledge on the use of information technology.
At the opening ceremony in Lafia, the state capital, State Head of Civil Service, Abari Aboki said the government in partnership with a Lagos-based ICT firm, will train its workers for a period of 18 months.
Director-General, State Bureau for Information and Communication Technology, BICT, Shehu Ibrahim said the training is to provide workers in the State with the needed skills to make them more productive in their various offices.

Ibrahim said that the State Government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Sule is committed to providing digital skills through ICT programs, as well as equipping its citizens with the requisite knowledge to handle 21st Century technologies.
The Director-General called on the participants to take the training seriously, in order to justify the State Government’s efforts and huge investment in improving their ICT skills.
