The Nasarawa State Urban Development Board has warned that any unregistered property in the state, will be demolished.
The NUDB Managing Director, Muhammed Wada, who gave the warning in Lafia, added that owners of the existing structures must also revalidate their documents, to escape the board’s hammer.

He agreed that though shelter remains an important aspect of man’s life, erecting such a structure must be in conformity with the existing building standards and procedures.
The Nasarawa state urban development board boss, also explained that the agency was out to ensure that rules are followed, hence individuals and corporate property owners, will need to revalidate or register their property through the agency’s website from anywhere around the world.
Speaking on the demolition exercise in Nyanya Gwandara in the first week of August which sparked off public protests, Wada said that the move was in line with the agency’s mandate to check gross abuse of building guidelines by property owners.
The urban development board MD challenged those affected by the demolition in Nyanya Gwandara in Karu local government area, to come forward with all necessary documents and approvals as evidence, to support their cases and they will get its support if their claims can be backed by relevant approvals.
