President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with the Government and People of Benue State over Easter’s devastating attacks in 3 local councils of the State describing it as a rude awakening that will be confronted head on.

President Tinubu who was represented by his National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu during a visit to the state appealed to residents not to politicize the persisting security challenge but rather form a united front with the State and Federal Governments to restore peace.

Meanwhile traditional leader, the Ter Ukum Iorkyaa Kaave confirmed the recovery of 11 more bodies in a fresh attack on Afia community of Ukum local council early Tuesday.

Ribadu met with political, traditional, religious and community leaders and civil society groups at Government House Makurdi

State Governor Hyacinth Alia acknowledged the visit and pledged to work together with the security agencies to ensure lasting peace is restored.

Tor Sankera who was represented by the Ter Ukum says the death toll has continued to rise since Friday’s coordinated attack in the Sankera axis of the State.
