Natasha Sues Akpabio, Aide, Seeks N100 Billion Damages

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has slammed a hundred billion naira defamation law suit against senate president, Godswill Akpabio and his senior legislative aide Mfon Patrick

The suit is a fall out of comments allegedly made following the clash between the Kogi Central senator and the senate president last week

The suit references a statement allegedly made by Akpabio’s aide on Facebook wherein it accused Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan of expressing “bottled up anger” over her removal as chairman local content committee and suggesting that she is ignorant of legislative rules.

According to the suit, the aide to the senate president reportedly wrote, “she thinks being a lawmaker is all about pancaking her face and wearing transparent outfits to the Chamber’s.”

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan describes the comments as defamatory and intended to cause public opprobrium and disaffection towards her in the eyes of the public.

She has urged the court to compel the defendants to withdraw the said defamatory words and publication and apologize in writing and in publication on any widely circulated national daily

She is also seeking an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendants, their privies and associates from further making any comments capable of defaming her
