Natasha Votes, Condemns Destruction Of Link Roads By Kogi Govt

The senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party for Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan has condemned the destruction of some link roads in ohehi Local Government Area of Kogi state alleging that it was done deliberately by the state government to disrupt the elections in the area.

Natasha who said this when she cast her vote at polling unit 19, obeiba ward one in Okehi Local Government area of the state, commended the efficiency of the BVAs and INEC officials in the ward.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC were on ground early to set up their equipment and voting commenced at exactly 9am in various polling units in okehi local government area of kogi state. Voters were on queue in orderly manner taking their turns to vote with cheers of welcoming a new government. The people’s democratic party’s senatorial candidate, natasha akpoti-uduaghan who voted at about 10:20am commended inec’s operation in the ward but alleged the kogi state government had planned to disrupt the excersise by cutting the link roads around the area to stop inec officials and voters from accessing the polling units.

Natasha called on relevant authorities to investigate the motives behind the cutting of the road few hours to the elections. Meanwhile, the kogi state government through its commissioner for information, kingsley fanwo explained that the cutting of the linking roads were part of strategies to protect the kogi indigenes from terrorist attacks owing to recent bombings in the state.

Voters and party agents present expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the excercise asking the incoming government to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

Inec officials commended the people for being orderly as they take turns to vote.
