The National Assembly Service Commission has approved the appointment of Andrew Ogbonnaya Nwoba as the new Clerk of the Senate, effective from December 11, 2024.
This announcement is contained in a letter signed by Emmanuel Anyigor, Director of Information at the National Assembly Service Commission, on behalf of the Executive Chairman.
Prior to this appointment, Nwoba served as the Secretary of the Directorate of Legislative Budget and Planning.
The Commission has also approved the promotion of several key officers within the National Assembly bureaucracy:
Emmanuel Odo has been appointed Deputy Clerk (Administration), Senate.

Vivien N. Njemanze is appointed Deputy Clerk (Administration), House of Representatives.
Dr. Obasi D. Ukoha is now the Secretary of the Directorate of Legislative Budget and Planning.
Other changes include the deployment of:
Rawlings Agada, formerly Deputy Clerk (Administration), Senate, to Deputy Clerk (Legislative), Senate.
Florence Kehinde A., previously Deputy Clerk (Administration), House of Representatives, to Deputy Clerk (Legislative), House of Representatives.
Additionally, the Commission has approved the appointment of
Ogundayo Mofoluwake Olufunmilayo as Secretary of the Directorate of Special Duties.
Alkali Umar Abubakar as Secretary of the Directorate of Human Resources & Staff Development.
Essien Eyo Essien as Secretary of the Directorate of Zonal Liaison Offices.
