Staff of the National Assembly, whose appointments have not been regularized by the National Assembly Commission (NASC) since 2018, have issued a 7 day ultimatum to the commission to absorb them into the system.

The staff, under the umbrella of a group known as Concerned Staff of the National Assembly staged a peaceful protest at the National Assembly, arguing that they have done almost 75% of the required documentation and are still yet to assume duty.

They say out of 500 them engaged, 200 remain unabsorbed into the system.

In a memoranda they submitted to the leadership of the NASC, the aggrieved group demanded among others, full implementation of NASC ad-hoc committee report on the 2018 recruitment.
