The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that power supply has been fully restored after a temporary disturbance on the national grid.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by TCN’s Spokesperson Ndidi Mbah, the incident occurred at 8:15 a.m. when an explosion rocked the 330kV Jebba Transmission Substation.
TCN said the blast triggered the protection system, which swiftly contained the damage and prevented further complications.

It added that the quick activation of the protection system prevented a major damage or outbreak of fire.
The statement went on to say that TCN engineers sprang into action, isolating the faulty current transformer and reconfiguring the busbar arrangement to ensure power supply was fully restored to the affected areas.
This latest grid disturbance is the third time in just one week and the eighth this year.
