The Nigeria National Grid system, operated by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) from Osogbo in Osun State, has collapsed.
The grid collapsed in the early hours of Thursday, plummeting to a meagre 273 megawatts of electricity coming from two out of the over 27 generators.

This comes barely a week after TCN, rolled out the drum to celebrate a questionable 400 days of grid stability.
One of the distribution companies, The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc, (EEDC) informed its customers of the total system collapse that occurred at 12:40 a.m. Thursday, September 14.
According to EEDC, it has resulted in the loss of supply currently experienced across the network.
Due to the development, all the company-interface TCN stations are out of supply, and they are unable to provide service to customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States.
Abuja, the Federal Capital, is also in darkness.
