National Security Adviser Maj. General Babagana Monguno Rtd, says the current poor security situation in the country will soon be a thing of the past addressing journalists on Thursday General Monguno said the Buhari led administration has concluded plans to end the insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other security challenges.

He further said between March and December 2020, the military successfully took out 2,403 insurgents in the North East.

The NSA said the change of service chiefs has given a ray of hope on efforts by the government in ending insecurity in the country.

The NSA said When this Administration came into office, Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, were going off left, right & center. Within one year
the Government was able to contain the deadly situation especially working to comprehensively deal with the root causes, like the illegal importation of fertilizer.

Monguno revealed that Government will not allow itself to be blackmailed by some elements and will use it full weight to deal with anyone causing mayhem

He advocates greater synergy in security architecture, between intelligence & operational arms, that Government has been meeting very regularly with the new Service Chiefs & Intelligence agencies.
