Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri has urged private organisations to take over the sports sector in Nigeria in order to give it more value as it is being practised in other countries.

Governor Diri was speaking at the opening ceremony of the National Women Football League, NWFL, Annual General Meeting, AGM in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
The key actors in the women football league in Nigeria are set to chart a way forward on how women football in Nigeria will continue to strive in the national and international space.
Governor Diri who declared the meeting open pledged to continuously show interest in sports development particularly football, using it as a veritable tool in engaging the youths.
NWFL chairperson, Aisha Falode noted that the 2022 AGM was to review the activities of the previous season and set an agenda for the upcoming football season.
Falode applauded the performance of Bayelsa Queens FC in their recent outing in the just-concluded Super 6.
