Two opposing youth groups on Thursday staged separate protests for and against the nationwide End Bad Governance and Hunger Protest in Adamawa State, North East of Nigeria.
While one group of protesters raised their placards which bore inscriptions in support of the President Tinibu’-led administration and denouncing the ‘End Bad Governance and Hunger’ protest, another set of protesters marched around major streets of Yola, to protest the prevailing economic hardship, hunger and bad governance’ in the country.
Both the pro and anti Tinibu’s government protesters laid claims to justify their actions in what appeared a dramatic show on Thursday in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
Though those who spoke in support of the President Tinibu’s administration admitted that some of the government’s economic policies were not friendly to the common man, they however argued that the President had demonstrated genuine commitments to fix the anomalies in no distant time.
The opposing protests were conducted peacefully in close monitoring of heavy security presence as confirmed by the Adamawa Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
