The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Akwa Ibom state says it has deployed 850 of its personnel across the state to maintain law and order and protect all critical national assets ahead of the planned nationwide protests.
In a statement issued by State Commandant Eluyemi Eluwade, he said past experiences had shown that hoodlums usually infiltrated protests and capitalize on the slightest opportunity to cause unrest.

Eluwade also said his command, in synergy with other security agencies , was prepared to deal with such persons.
He called on residents of the state to go about their lawful activities as security agencies will ensure ‘perpetrators of evil’ do not have their way.
