The Nigerian association of women journalists NAWOJ has decried the low level of involvement of Nigeria women in politics.

While giving a lecture titled “Nigeria socio-economic and political challenges :the imperatives of women in politics”, they were unanimous in opinion that there should be deliberate efforts to include a substantial number of women in politics and governance, if Nigeria must make progress.
Noting the important and active roles of women in the family circle ,these key players say there was no reason to undermine the capability of women in managing the governance of Nigeria in various capacities and called on women to support one another in their bid to attain political offices.
Highlight of the lecture was the donation of books and other writing materials to special needs pupils present at the event.
