Captain of the Nigeria Women Basketball Team, Adora Elonu, has disagreed with the ban placed on the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, by the Federal Government.

Elonu said she was completely taken aback when reports in some quarters suggested that, her teammates won’t play under any President of the NBBF.

She described the ban as ill-fated that will be detrimental to the growth of everyone in the basketball family while pleading with the FG to reconsider their decision.

She said The Nigeria Women Basketball team never said they will not play under any President.

Elonu says looking at the situation, the players think that there are better ways to handle the crisis while allowing development in the local leagues, grassroots as well as the national team.

She insisted that players should not suffer because of the desperate attitude of some leaders. and feels it will be unfair after the players have put in a lot of effort, they will be deprived the opportunity of playing at the international level
