Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, says no bill to gag the media will be considered on the floor of the House of Representatives.

The Speaker while reacting to the public outcry both bills generated after the public hearing, said that what the house intends to do is to regulate the media.

Gbajabiamila further noted that even though he is strongly against any bill that seeks to gag the media, there is nowhere in the world that freedom of speech is absolute.

The speaker also denied the report that there is a bill that seeks to criminalize protest and prosecute protesters before the House of Representatives.
