Director General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Musa Nuhu has announced the suspension of Azman Airlines operations in the Nigerian airspace.
The NCAA boss said Azman Airlines was suspended because it failed to meet the requirements for the renewal of its Air Transport Licence (ATL) which expired on Thursday.
Nuhu who disclosed this in a chat with Raypower’s Akhemie Oke disclosed that since the Airline did not meet the requirements for renewal, automatically their Air Operators Certificate (AOC) is not in use and as such the airline flight operations stands suspended.
He disclosed that once they meet the requirements for the renewal and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NCAA for the payments of the non remitted 5%, TSA, , they will be back and flying in the air.
He noted that the NCAA did not refuse to renew the ATL, but that the airline failed to meet the stipulated requirements adding that if the airline meets the requirements they will be allowed to fly.
