Efforts to strengthen business infrastructure in Nigeria’s oil-producing region are gaining new momentum, as the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), moves to transform Yenagoa into a major destination for industry meetings and investment with a planned world-class hotel and conference centre.
The NCDMB has signed an international management agreement with Radisson Hospitality Belgium, and Edison Hotel and Property Development Company to operate a 204-room hotel and conference centre being developed beside Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The agreement, sealed in Durban, South Africa
followed more than two years of negotiations, regulatory reviews and approvals, including clearance from the office of Nigeria’s Attorney-General.
Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Felix Omatsola Ogbe says the project reflects the Board’s commitment to strategic investments that strengthen local content and attract new business opportunities.
Beyond a hotel, the facility is envisioned as a modern conference destination designed to support Nigeria’s oil and gas stakeholders while opening the doors of Yenagoa to global visitors.
For partners like Edison Corporation, the project represents more than bricks and mortar. Its Executive Chairman, Vivian Reedy
says success will depend on disciplined management, transparency, and strong collaboration with Radisson’s global hospitality expertise.
When completed, targeted for December opening, the Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre Yenagoa is expected to become a catalyst for investment, tourism, and business gatherings in the Niger Delta.
Wada Ahmed Wada who represented the Attorney‑General of the Federation described the signing ceremony as historic and wished the parties success in their business relationship.
For a city at the heart of Nigeria’s oil industry, it is also a signal that new opportunities may be arriving, one partnership at a time.
