A Pan Nigerian Initiative under the National Consultative Front, NCF, wants all former Presidents, Heads of State and other retired top govt. officials particularly those in the security sector to serve in the National Elders Committee in finding urgent solutions to the leadership failure in the country.

NCF made this known at an emergency national intervention meeting of leaders of conscience held in Abuja on the enormous challenges facing the nation.

The Patriots and Leaders of conscience who cut across the 36 states known as the Pan Nigeria initiative under the National Consultative Front, NCF converged on abuja for an emergency meeting of national importance to consider the current state of the nation from multiple insurrections to ethnic divisions and separatists agitations in all the six geopolitical zones of the country.

In one voice, they requested a former head of state, Gen.Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) to call a meeting of former Presidents, Heads of State, and other retired top government Officials to use their experience and wisdom to assist President Buhari in stabilizing Nigeria.

The National Consultative Front urged Nigerians to protect the nation from collapsing and create a platform to bring all warring parties to a peace table talk to immediately stop attacks on individuals, groups and public facilities.

The Pan Nigeria initiative also appealed to all political parties to suspend further political events to give room for activities in saving the country from the brink of destruction.

The emergency meeting is expected to ensure that suggestions raised are considered by those running the affairs of the nation both in the past and presence to set the stage for an enlarged Council of State meeting which will include all former civilian and military Governors, former Military Chiefs of Staff, all serving and former Chief Judges, all former and serving Ministers, serving and former NASS leaders and representatives of the Youths.
