The Nigerian government has pledged its full support to the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in all aspects of its trainings, in order to ensure the production of highly skilled officers to meet the needs of the Armed Forces.

Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima made this commitment during the 34th Convocation Ceremony for Cadets of the 71st Regular Course and Direct Short Service Course 28 for the Army, as well as Course 32 for the Air Force, held in Kaduna.

The 34th Convocation ceremony marked the graduation of Cadets from the 71st Regular Course, who successfully completed both their military training and academic studies.

Over the course of 5 years, the Cadets underwent rigorous trainings that tested their physical endurance, intellectual strength, and leadership skills.

Delivering Vice President Shettima’s message, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Kana, praised the Cadets for their bravery and discipline throughout their training.

He reaffirmed the Federal government’s commitment to supporting the NDA in training the finest officers for the nation’s defence and security.

Notably, among the graduating Cadets was an allied Cadet from Sierra Leone, underscoring the international collaboration in military training at the NDA.

The convocation also saw the conferral of Bachelor’s degrees to Cadets, as well as Postgraduate Diplomas, Master’s Degrees, Doctoral Degrees, and Honorary Degrees from the Nigerian Defence Academy.

Additionally, 13 Cadets graduated with First-class degrees in various disciplines, 199 earned second-class Upper division degrees, 271 achieved second-class Lower division degrees, and 71 Cadets graduated with Third-class degrees.
