The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) says it will continue to engage critical stakeholders within the Niger Delta region to ensure that development policies meet the needs of the people.
The managing director of NDDC, Samuel Ogbuku, gave the assurance during a meeting with Abia stakeholders at the state office in Ubehi, Ukwa West LGA of Abia State.
The engagement with the people of the niger delta region is one of the key policy frameworks of the NDDC to identify the needs of the people and to make necessary plans to address their demands.
The managing director of the NDDC, Samuel Ogbuku assured the gathering that the NDDC will continue to sustain the interface as their input would be of great importance to sustainable development of the region.
Some of the Stakeholders commended the current board and management of the NDDC for repositioning the commission but want the NDDC to ensure the completion of all stalled and abandoned projects, implement water projects and youths empowerment.
The NDDC distributed U-lesson tablets and other instructional educational materials to some primary and secondary schools within the state.
The theme for the Abia state stakeholders’ engagement is: “Sustainable Development For All: Empowering Abia Communities Through Inclusive Decision-Making And Capacity Building.”
