Four hundred and forty- six drug suspects have been arrested and about 701 kilograms of drugs and other illicit substances seized by the Katsina State Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, from January 2020 to date.

The State Commandant of the agency, Sule Momodu who disclosed this in Katsina, promised to continue to fight the menace, until sanity is restored.

According to the Katsina NDLEA boss, Sule Momodu, 92 out of the arrested suspects are students of tertiary institutions in the state.

He noted that the agency had series of meetings with heads of tertiary institutions in the state on the need to conduct drug tests for students, to address the menace.

Momodu also hinted that the command equally seized over 701 kilograms of various drugs and secured 54 convictions within the period under review.

While raising alarm over the high level of drug abuse and trafficking in the state, he said almost all categories of people have been involved in the illicit activities in the year 2020.
