The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, says it remains committed ending illicit drug dealings in Nigeria in the not so distant future.
NDLEA Chairman Brigadier General Buba Marwa who said this to journalists in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, described addiction the rate of drug addiction among Nigerian youths as alarming.
Marwa also said large quantities of illicit substances are being confiscated daily and the dealers apprehended even in the face of despite a series of campaigns against the practice by the NDLEA.
The NDLEA also pointed out a strong link between between the increased drug use and the growing insecurity in Nigeria.
He said the level of campaigns against illicit drugs in the country will be sustained are will continue to yield results.
