The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has raised alarm over the growing rate of drugs abuse in the country.
The Onne Commander of the Agency, Stella Ngwoke who stated this said NDLEA within her jurisdiction has seized over N40 billion worth of Drugs within a few weeks.
The enlightenment campaign which took place at the Onne Multi Purpose Hall in Rivers State, in the South South region of Nigeria had in attendance students, different security agencies and corporate organizations.
The focal point of the colloquium was the increasing rate of drugs abuse and its effects on the citizens.

Stella Ngwoke, the Onne NDLEA Commander explained that the over N40 billion worth of Drugs seized within two weeks, was a worrisome situation and called on stakeholders to join hands in the fight against drugs abuse.
One of the keynote speakers at the event, Rose Emeka who is a lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt emphasised the need for more rehabilitation centers, while the Comptroller of Customs at the Onne Command, Imam Babadede said the organisation will continue to collaborate with the NDLEA to fight the drug scourge.
In winning the war against illicit drugs and abuses, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA warned illegal dealers, and those who indulge in it to desist, noting that the agency has intensified its strategy in taking the war to suspected persons.
