The North East Development Commission, (NEDC) has donated state-of-the-art equipment to the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital, at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The equipment comprises haematology analyzer, high-frequency mobile X-Ray machine, full-automatic analyzer, a V100 spectrophotometer and an electrolyte analyzer.
The Managing Director of the North East Development Commission, NEDC, Mohammed Alkali, says the commission is committed to interventions in the healthcare system, in the North East.
He lauded the military for efforts in restoring peace and normalcy to the region
Alkali also assured the military of the commission’s support in its de-radicalization programme.


The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sadiya Farouk, gave the assurance that the commission would sustain its support.
She was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Nasir Gwarzo.
The Commander of the hospital, Lt. Col. Adeniyi Ogunsakin, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Maj.-Gen. Waidi Shuaibu, and the Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai in the North East, Maj.-Gen. Christopher Musa, all lauded the commission for sustained support.
Similar donations were also made to the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, and the University of Maiduguri, where a Centre for the Study of Violent Extremism Complex, was commissioned and handed over, as well as the presentation of a cheque of N48m, to support cancer research
