Following the unsettling security situation in Opu-Nembe, Bassambiri, a six-man judicial panel of inquiry has been set up by the Bayelsa state government to investigate and evaluate the remote and immediate causes of the violent attacks in the community.
Governor Douye Diri, speaking through his Deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo at the event in Government House, Yenagoa, says the decision became necessary as several petitions sent to the Acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and other relevant authorities have failed to yield positive results.
Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo charged the Panel to investigate the alleged killing of three persons in their prime in the course of the violent attacks.
