The new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda assumed duty immediately he was confirmed as the new helmsman of the ruling Party calling on members of the National Working Committee to cooperate with him to achieve greater heights for the party and the nation.
He was speaking when he presided over his maiden meeting with the National Working Committee at the Party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the Tinubu administration to take Nigeria out of the curret economic woods and called on Nigerians to be patient as the economy remains “a work in progress.”

Until his emergence as APC National Chairman during this Thursday’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, Yilwatda was the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
In October 2024, he took over from Betta Edu, who was suspended over a financial scandal.
