New daily Covid-19 cases in Nigeria jump to over 500

Nigeria has now recorded over 70,000 Covid-19 cases since the first infection was confirmed on February 27. This follows 550 infections reported in 17 states in the last 24 hours as the total number of confirmed cases in the country rises to 70,195.

States with new Covid-19 cases include Lagos-219; FCT-168; Kaduna-52; Kwara-19; Kano and Rivers-15 each; Sokoto-10. Others are Enugu-9; Gombe-8; Plateau and Osun-7 each; Anambra and Oyo-5 each; Jigawa; Ogun-4; Bauchi-2 and Edo-1

At least 163 Covid-19 patients have recovered from infection with total number of successfully treated cases in Nigeria now 65,110.

The latest figures from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC show that 1 more Covid-19 death has been reported in Nigeria in the last 24 hours with the national death toll put at 1,182.
