New Year Banquet: Gov. Fubara Says 2026 Will Be A Liberation Year For Rivers State

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that 2026 will usher in peace and divine liberation for the state, expressing confidence that God will deliver Rivers from the grip of those he says do not have the best interests of its progress at heart.

The governor acknowledged the challenges and setbacks encountered in 2025 but assured that governance in 2026 will move ahead with renewed strength, stressing that his administration remains firmly committed to achieving all its set goals.

Governor Fubara gave the assurance while speaking at a New Year’s Day banquet, noting that at the end of his stewardship, those who stood by his administration would look back with pride, convinced that supporting his leadership was the right decision.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara is optimistic that 2026 will be a better year stressing that nothing will distract his administration from achieving its goals.

Another talking point for the governor was the presence of former Governor Celestine Omehia, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Austin Opara, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Uche Secondus, and former Minister of Transport Abiye Sekibo at the New Year’s Day banquet.

The Rivers State Governor also solicited the people’s support by urging them to stand on the side of truth and defend the interests of the state at all times.   

While urging for unity among the people, Governor Siminalayi Fubara declares that 2026 will be a year that God will dismantle all obstacles hindering the peace and progress of Rivers State.
