President of Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated Nigerians for making it to the New Year and advised them to renew their hope that Nigeria would be better.

In a New Year message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President expressed optimism that with President Bola Tinubu on the driving seat, Nigeria is on course to regaining its enviable place in the comity of nations.

Akpabio also assured that the National Assembly under his leadership will not abdicate its constitutional responsibility which is the reason for the timely intervention in the passage of the 2024 budget in a record time.

He reiterated that the Lawmakers will do everything to ensure the judicious implementation of the budget by the Executive.

Akpabio added that the Executive arm of government and members of the National Assembly are not oblivious of the sacrifices by Nigerians, he however appealed to all not to lose faith in Nigeria but be hopeful and prayerful.

Akpabio re-echoes that, in no distant time Nigerians will start reaping the benefits of voting the present government to power as the current administration is committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda and will make it a reality.

He stresses that the passage of the 2024 Appropriation Bill before the end of the year is deliberate and a promise kept to pave the way for presidential assent and immediate commencement of its implementation in the New Year so that Nigerians can begin to feel the impact of the President Tinubu-led government.

He noted that the National Assembly understands the plight of the average Nigerian and every decision made so far is aimed at improving the standard of living and making things easy for all.

The President again assures that things will turn for the better in 2024 as they endeavor to
deliver on their promises.
