The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has unveiled Eric Chelle as the new Super Eagles head coach amidst high expectations from football enthusiasts.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the media conference room of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
Chelle’s appointment was confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, last week Tuesday.
The former Mali International is the 42nd substantive head coach of the Super Eagles.
The 47-year-old has been tasked with reviving Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying hopes.
The Super Eagles are yet to record a win in the qualifiers and are fifth in Group C with three points from four games.

Chelle will lead the home-based Super Eagles at the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN.
His appointment was greeted with widespread resistance and criticism by Nigerian football fans and pundits.
