A Minna based Non-Governmental Organization, has donated 8,000 bags of food items to Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs.
The donation is in the spirit of celebrating Nigeria’s Independence anniversary.
The food items were handed over to the Niger State Government by the representative of the donor, Abdul-Hakim Oshinuga in Minna, the Niger State capital.
The items donated were 3,200 bags of rice, 2,400 bags of maize, as well as 2,400 bags of millet, and 2,000 cartons of noodles.

The targetted beneficiaries are the Internally Displaced Persons in Rafi, Munya, Shiroro and Bosso Local Government Areas of Niger State.
The Secretary to Niger State Government, Ahmad Matane, represented Governor Abubakar Bello at the handing over of the food items to the state government, described donation of the food items as a commendable gesture worthy of emulation by other individuals, to support the people who have lost their means of livelihood, as a result of banditry.
The Chairmen of Shiroro Local Government Council, Sulaiman Chukuba and his Munya counterpart, Muhammad Yahuza, commended the donor for the gesture, at a time the Internally Displaced Persons needed the intervention most.
