NiDCOM handles over 1,000 petitions since inception

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) says it will continue to engage Nigerians in the diaspora to broaden investments for the growth and development of the Country.

The Commission also announced that it has treated over 1000 petitions from Nigerians in the diaspora in the last five years, ranging from emergencies, consular, trafficking and deportation issues.

Chairman/CEO, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, disclosed this as the Commission marks 5 years of its establishment.

Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) was established in May 2019 by former president Muhammedu Buhari Five years after Abike Dabiri-Erewa Reflects on the Commission’s performance and significant contributions towards Nigeria’s development in the last 5 years.

The NiDCOM Boss acknowledged inherent challenges of the Commission but expressed hope for the future.

Secretary to the Commission, Sule Yakubu Bassi spoke on the hurdles NiDCOM experienced but expressed confidence in the Commission’s ability to deliver effective services.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards and prizes to deserving staff, recognising their outstanding contributions to the Commission’s success story.
