Days after the terrorist attack on Mai-Giro village in Shiroro local government area where about 20 farmers were killed, the people have continued to mourn their loved ones.
At a 3 day prayer for the repose of the souls of the deceased held at the Kuta central mosque, headquarters of Shiroro local government area, the residents are calling for an urgent intervention of the federal government to return the military who were withdrawn from Allawa village 5 months ago.
The withdrawal was a result of persistent attacks on the military stationed there, as well as the killing of the commander and other officers via improvised explosive devices by the terrorists, which has made the area prone to incessant attacks.
The acting Governor, Yakubu Garba, who was accompanied by the Emir of Minna, Umar-Farooq Bahago, to the prayers, appealed to President Tinubu to immediately ensure the return of the military to Allawa village.
This according to him, this will assist the agrarian region to contribute to the Agricultural revolution of the present administration.
He also used the medium to clear the air about rumours making the rounds that the farmers were killed at an IDP camp.
As of the time of this report, 13 bodies have been found and buried, which include 8 who were shot at and 5 who drowned while fleeing from the terrorists, with more bodies still expected to be discovered.
