The Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, NSEMA, Abdullahi Baba-Arah, who confirmed this through a statement by the spokesman of the agency, also added that 34 communities and 41,192 persons have so far been affected by the devastating effects of the flood.

It was also gathered that 6,865 households have been affected with 18 bridges and 80 culverts cut as a result of the flood.

It could be recalled that on April 17, the federal government warned that 148 LGAs in 31 states, including Niger, were at risk of severe flooding from April to November.
