Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has ordered the arrest of the State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Engineer Mohammed Jibrin Imam over alleged missing N300 million from the party’s finances.
This follows a petition against the Chairman to the police by the Financial Secretary of the party, Mohammed Idris Gbagbam.
The Party Chairman is said to have been detained on Tuesday night after honouring invitations from the police at the Command Headquarters in Minna, the state capital. The State Secretary, Mohammed Liman and the State Treasurer, Dr. Mohammed Shashi who were arrested along with the Chairman were however released after two hours of interrogation.

The State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman has confirmed that the State APC Chairman is under investigation over allegations of fraud by a petitioner but declined to give further details.
