Niger State government says it will not take responsibility for any vandalized vehicles or goods that may occur as a result of the articulated vehicles’ road blockade.
The Secretary to the State Government, Ahmad Matane, observed that most of the articulated vehicles are conveying petroleum products as well as other goods, which can explode and cause damage.

Matane maintained that the state government can no longer guarantee the safety of the drivers, their vehicles, as well as the goods they are conveying.
The Secretary to the State Government further maintained that communities affected by any form of disaster as a result of the gridlock would claim damages from the drivers.
He advised the drivers to vacate their vehicles from the Bida-Lapai-Lambata Federal Highway, to allow for free flow of vehicular movements, as well as goods and services.
