Niger Personnel Welfare: Police Present Cheques Worth Over N44m To Families Of Deceased Officers

As part of efforts to boost the welfare of deceased police officers in Niger state, the state Commissioner of Police, Shawulu Danmamman has Presented cheques worth Over 44 million naira to 38 families of deceased officers.

The CP equally used the medium to present NYSC Commendation Letters To 17 Personnel for dedication to duty during the last orientation course.

In a statement by the spokesman of the police, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodin, the CP made the presentations during the Command’s end-of-month conference at the Police Officers’ Mess.

The cheques were presented on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun to the tune of over 44 million naira to families of deceased personnel who lost their lives in line of duty between 2022/2023 and under the Group Life Assurance Scheme of the Force. The gesture according to the CP is to provide some token to the next of kin of the fallen heroes.

The CP who noted that the gesture under the Group Life Assurance Scheme is in addition to other benefits within the Police Force for the families.

Similarly, the CP presented NYSC commendation letters to seventeen personnel of the Command, who were deployed to ensure orderliness and security at the recently concluded NYSC Orientation Camp for the year 2024 Batch A, Stream one orientation exercise in Minna.

The team leader, ASP Shuaibu Abdulkadir on behalf of the personnel, appreciated the Commissioner of Police for allowing him and others to serve in such a capacity, while he equally appreciated the NYSC Coordinator for the commendation and promised to do more in the line of duty.
