Niger State Government and the United Nations Children’s Education Fund, UNICEF have pledged to return hundreds of thousands of out of school children to school.
The decision was reached at the meeting between a delegation of the Niger State Government, the United Nations Children’s Education Fund and the Media in Minna, the Niger State capital.
The meeting focused on how best to go about the campaign on some of the students who could not go back to their respective schools since the outbreak of Covid-19.

The representative of UNICEF, Mador Elisha, pointed out that the stay at home order put as a result of the outbreak of Covid-19 has affected the students academically.
He added that the campaign will involve community, religious and traditional rulers, to achieve the desired results, of ensuring that children have the right to education.
The UNICEF representative called on the media to be in the front row of the campaign.
