Victims of gender-based violence, have been urged to report cases as quickly as possible, to the nearest authority, for prompt action.
Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State said this, while inaugurating the State Gender-based Violence Committee, in Minna, the Niger State capital.
Worried by the daily increase in cases of gender-based violence across the state, the governor stressed the need for the victims, to break the silence.
The twenty man committee has representatives from the ministries, Departments, and Agencies, as well as nongovernmental organizations, with Amina Bello, as the chairperson.

The committee is expected to come up with the strategies, of curtailing the menace of gender-based violence, across the state.
