As humanitarian services continue to pour in for Mokwa flood victims in Niger State, the National Hydro Electric Power Producing Development Areas Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has donated assorted food items and 5 million naira as its own contribution to the welfare of the victims.
The commission’s acting Managing Director, Haruna Jimoh-Gabi presented the items to the State Government at Mokwa local government Secretariat.
While commiserating with the people of the town over the loss of lives and destruction of infrastructure, Jimoh-Gabi called for concerted efforts and strategic plans to avert a recurrence.

Receiving the items on behalf of the state government, the Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Yakubu Kolo assured N-HYPPADEC of judicious distribution of the donations to the victims, saying the gesture would go a long way in reducing the impact of the disaster on the victims.
Items donated include bags of rice, spaghetti, garri, mattresses, palm oil, mosquito nets and lifejackets.
