Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State has flagged-off COVID-19 vaccination, as he received the Oxford Astrazenece COVID-19 vaccine.
The vaccine was administered to the governor by his physician, Dr Shehu Ahmad at Government House, Minna.
Governor Abubakar Bello was vaccinated alongside his cabinet members at the Council Chambers.
The Governor applauded the state Primary Health Care Development Agency for standing up to fight the disease.
The Chief Executive Officer directed that any member who refuses to be vaccinated will be barred from attending the council meetings.
The Commissioner for Health and Hospital Services, Dr. Muhammad Makusidi said, the state has taken delivery of seventy-four thousand, one hundred and ten doses of Oxford Astrazenece COVID-19 vaccines, estimated for one per cent of the state population.

Makusidi explained that the vaccine is safe and efficacious, as it has gone through clinical and scientific trials.
