Niger State Government and the World Bank have mapped out strategies on how to address malnutrition, which has affected over one million children below the age of five.

The three-year programme was flagged off at the Lapai Rural Hospital, Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.

Niger State is one of the twelve states that have been selected for the programme.

Women and children below the age of five converged on the rural hospital to benefit from the three-year programme.

The scheme will also expose pregnant women, lactating mothers and children to the kinds of food they are expected to consume.
