Forty-two persons were abducted by gunmen in Government Science College Kagara headquarters of Rafi Local Government Area.
Governor Abubakar Bello made the confirmation shortly after an emergency security meeting held in Government House in Minna
The Governor said that they include 27 students, three members of staff and 12 family members in the college quarters.
The Governor also notes that a student by name Monday Doma was killed by the bandits during the abduction process in the early hours of today
The remains of the student have been buried.
Few hours after the abduction, a Member of Staff escaped from the bandits.

The Governor expressed with dismay the deteriorating security situation in the state, especially in the last 10 days.
The Governor also directed the closure of all boarding Secondary Schools in Munya, Rafi, Shiroro, and Mariga Local Government Areas of the State with immediate effect.
The Governor maintained that the schools will remain close until the security situation improves.
