Barely 2 days after shutting down two schools within Minna the state capital for persistent interschool fights, Niger State government has reopened them after some considerations and review of measures.
In a statement, the state Commissioner For Basic and Secondary Education, Hadiza Muhammed explained that government decided to reopen Government Day Secondary School along Bosso Road, and Father O’Connell Science College, after they had an interactive session with Governor Umar Bago.
The statement added that in consideration of second term examination, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education wishes to inform the general public that the two schools will be reopened on Monday, March 17.

The ministry said students are expected to resume on Tuesday, March 18, along with their parents or guardians for proper documentation as well as the signing of undertakings.
Additionally, parents and guardians have been invited for a stakeholders’ meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 20, all geared towards understanding and cooperation in ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
