The Niger State Police Command has intercepted and arrested a human trafficking syndicate.
The 2 suspects, 49-year-old Osaruwumen Ewodaru and 43-year-old Olaoluwa Adebanjo were arrested along the Abuja-Kaduna Express Road, with their five female victims
Osaruwumen Ewodaru of Opasa-Kpamba Community in Edo State was said to have picked his victims, aged between eighteen and twenty-three, with the intention to traffic them from Edo through Kano, to Libya to secure their jobs.

The police also arrested three persons in a hotel in Kontagora, the Headquarters of Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger State, for being in possession of suspected fake Naira notes, worth about N16 million.

Those arrested include 42-year-old Emmanuel Akazuwa, a 48-year-old Pastor Sabastine Dabu, as well as 50-year-old Umar, Muhammad.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Wasiu Abiodun, who paraded the suspects, assured the public that the police will not relent in its efforts to protect the lives and property of the people.
He said that the suspects will appear in court soon.
