The Niger State Police Command has presented cheques worth over N111 million to families and next of kins of deceased police officers.
The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Shawulu Danmamman, has presented cheques to 71 families and the State Police Commissioner Shawulu Danmamman who handed over the cheques at the Command Headquarters in Minna, told the beneficiaries that the gesture was a fallout from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun’s Group Life Assurance, and IGP Welfare Insurance Schemes.

He urged them to make judicious use of the money.

Tears flowed freely from the eyes of the next of kin and wives of the deceased police officers as they received the cheques ranging from N250,000= (two hundred and fifty thousand Naira) to 4,000 000=(four million Naira)
Police Commissioner Danmamman told them that the token will not fill the vacuum created by the departed souls but urged them to accept it as a token from the IGP for the sacrifice their loved ones made..
He also said additional welfare entitlements are being worked out and will be paid subject to the processing speed.
On behalf of the families, Dr Solomon Adama, Moses Joshua, and Rifkatu Sunday thanked the IGP and CP Danmamman for the gesture, promising to make judicious use of the money.
