Public primary school teachers in Niger State have embarked on special prayer sessions, seeking spiritual intervention, as part of efforts to address their plights.
The teachers converged on the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Niger State Wing, in Chanchaga, Minna, the state capital.

The prayer sessions were presided over by Islamic and Christian spiritual leaders.
Some of the issues affecting the teachers include approval and implementation of new retirement age, implementation of thirty thousand Naira minimum wage, and 4-month outstanding salaries to the teachers recruited in two thousand and nineteen, across the state, among others.
The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Niger State Wing, Akayago Muhammad, commended the members for their patience and understanding over the situation they have found themselves in.
Akayago Muhammad urged them to continue to pray on their plight.
The Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Niger State Council, Yakubu Garba, appreciated the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, for the matured manner in which they are fighting for their rights.
